The rights were acquired in December 2008 to develop a marina at Fishguard Waterfront in West Wales and subsequently, planning approval was obtained from the Crown Estate and Pembrokeshire County Council for a 450 berth marina.

Following meetings with the First and Deputy Ministers at the Welsh Assembly Government, a planning application has been submitted for a mixed use marina development at Fishguard which will now incorporate the reconfiguration of Stena Line’s existing port facilities. This will supersede our existing planning consent and provide for a development of greater scale and opportunity.

The main elements of the scheme include a 450 berth marina with workshops, stores and ancillary facilities; 253 new residential apartments incorporating extensive landscaped gardens and a 19 acre platform for the potential expansion of the existing Stena Line port. The scheme would also create a new, publicly-accessible promenade and waterfront, together with visitor parking.

We have also exchanged contracts to acquire an eleven acre site for a lorry stop and distribution park on the perimeter of the Stena Line owned port at Fishguard. A planning application for this much needed facility has been submitted in partnership with Stena Line. Completion is subject to receipt of suitable planning consents.
